Do You Seek Him?
"The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God."
It's a little after 5am on a Wednesday morning. I've already been up for probably an hour now, can't seem to understand why I am up so early. except I guess, that I am burdened down with thoughts and cares that I have for certain friends and family members. Wishing things would change, or at least, get a response from, so I can move on or do something to fix it. But instead, I am here... writing this text and reading my Bible, and being that today is the 14th of October this passage comes forth...
"The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men... " I think at this point I understand why He is doing this, why God seeks... Does anyone understand why God seeks?
I think we are missing the point of our existence in this life if we don't consider this matter. I think God's creative mind in the beginning was to make someone who might understand why God seeks, why God looks down, why God even seems to care for His creation. God is an intimate God who seeks for an opportunity to be intimate with man.
So, here I am this morning.. I understand! I really do! Relationships are important to me, especially those whom I desire to make real! I mean something that gets deep and enjoys a long a healthy lifetime of interaction. It's not good enough to "say" that I'm your friend, I want some to be my friend. It's not good enough to "say" I love you, I want people to show that they love me!
"I love you brother" and then leave me hanging for days, weeks, months or years! No communication, no effort to write back or call, text, nothing! No explanation, no reasons why... Do you really understand?
A real relationship is cultivated through every sort of circumstance, every trial and good time. Through the ups and downs of life, until each other knows that no matter what happens, good or bad, we will always be together. A friend is a friend forever.... A brother is a brother forever... A husband is a husband forever... A father is a father forever... unconditional...
"Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil. does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things... Love never fails" I Cor 13:4-8
Now, do you understand why God looks down from heaven.. upon the children of men?
