The Benefits of God

"Blessed the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from distruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.' Psalms 103:2-4

This passage gives us a description of the benefits of having a relationship with God. Believe me the benefits outnumber the sacrifices we may have to endure.

The first benefit is the forgiveness of sin and becoming clean and righteous before God. It's the first and greatest benefit that anyone could ever have. Without this one, the rest of them are not even possible to receive. Healing and redemption are an effect of a forgiven life through Christ.

Healing is the next benefit. Most of us don't even consider this one, and the reason is that we have a hospital system and doctors who we rely on more. It's only when we have a revelation of this and a desperate need of Him to be the Healer that we come to this conclusion. And then we realize it's even better than what we can ever do here on this earth, and the reasons for this is first, it's free! bought and paid for, and there is a lifelong provision clause that allows us to walk and life in a healed lifestyle.

Thirdly, the redemption factor that causes us to rebuild and become someone of value and purpose in the Kingdom. This is a major great benefit! Again, I don't see to many people looking to receive this benefit, and I guess the reason is, is that you'll have to find yourself in a place of destruction first, It's only then that God can reconstruct the life and redeem it back to something better.

And last but certainly not the least is the benefit of finding God's lovingkindness and mercy. The word crown denotes an honor or placement of a valued gift that is now going to be with you for the rest of your life. Psalms 23:6 says this the best, "surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life."

It's the goodness of God and the way He loves on us that gives us the exciting adventure of life with Him. I love these benefits! May I never forget all of His benefits. Blessings! Pastor Michael
