The Lord of the Harvest

"Then He said to His disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, beseech the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers into His harvest.' Matthew 9:37-38

I have been looking forward to this season, it's been a long hard summer, there has been a lot of hardship in our labor of love but the Lord has helped us and brought us to this present position, and now we are entering into a time of Harvest! I see an abundance coming! I see a field set before me and this thing is huge!

As the scripture indicates we need laborers! and we need them to have the same heart and determination to work the field and get things taken care of. So we need to "beseech" (to want, entreat), the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers into HIS harvest! It's not our harvest, we are not placing anything into our barns, we don't own the land, nor do we have anything to do with the seed. All of us are nothing more than laborers, workers, hired employees to work the fields so that He can get His harvest in.

So, do we labor for ourselves, for our own profit? Or do we work to bring profit to the One who hired us?

When did we become employed? and when should we start working? I don't think those questions have ever been asked? We have been so consumed in our own business, that we have seemed to have lost focus on the work that God employed us to do.

This is a scary thought....
